Bribery Attempt Misconduct Crowned in Alken Trial
In United States District Court the trial of William I. Alken and three co defendants continued with charges of attempted bribery and jury influence. Harry Barish testified he, at William S. Alken's urging, offered $200 to government witness Zelig Miller and admitted using the alias H Barrett in a swindling scheme. The witness denied personal gain beyond the bribe admission and said the funds from H Barrett goods would aid a prior asset concealment case. Court recessed the trial to Tuesday.
