Three people were struck on Campbell avenue near Revere Beach boulevard at 12 15 this morning and dragged 20 feet on the auto hood Driver abandoned the car and left the victims in the road The injuries were described as serious with one fatal casualty reported
A Boston Elevated guard and a militiaman were poisoned by candy from a stranger. One piece eaten. both fainted. The Elevation employee required treatment for chloral poisoning, a strong heart would have died. Police investigate with arrests expected.
Two National Guardsmen on duty at a railroad bridge in Penacook New Hampshire said four shots were fired at them by an unidentified assailant. The guardsmen reported no injuries and searches found no one in the area.
British forces shatter German defences along 12 mile and nine mile fronts near Arras and St Quentin. They seize six villages north of the Scarpe and advance from Vimy ridge toward Loos, gaining footing in German trenches. continued coverage noted.
