New Belmont Unitarian Church Dedicated on Concord Avenue
The Belmont Congregational-Unitarian Society dedicated a new stone church on Concord Avenue beside the park. Built in an old English style with a brown plaster tower, it cost 26900 with about 1900 still unpaid. The auditorium features light oak and a Tiffany stained glass window honoring Elisha Atkins, designed by W H Lowe and executed by Tiffany. Nine back windows honor Mrs Fletcher’s gift to her husband’s memory, and the organ and large Bible were gifts from Mr Fletcher and Mrs Hittinger respectively. The building was dedicated on a Wednesday.
