Mothers Pension Act Aids Indigent Widows In New Jersey
Trenton April 9 Governor Fielder approved the Mothers Pension bill to help widows with children under 16. pensions of 9 dollars monthly for the first child 5 dollars for the second and 4 dollars for each additional child will be provided from county treasuries. Applications through the State Board of Children's Guardians will be reviewed by a Common Pleas judge in each county.
