80 Year Old Sheriff Is Removed in Maine

John W. Ballou of Bath Maine was ousted as high sheriff of Sagadahoc County after an impeachment trial. Senate 18 to 1 and House 81 to 50 supported removal. Ballou, 80, said he left enforcement to his deputy son and faced liquor law charges.

Militants Burn Mansion and Attack Gallery in Pankhurst Showdown

English militants exploded bombs at Oxted station injuring a train car and wrecking a lavatory while placards demanded release of Mrs Pankhurst. An unidentified about 35 year old woman dressed in black died on an inbound Winchester Elevated car at Medford square last evening. A handkerchief with a J mark was the only identifying item found. Medical Examiner Durell has not reported yet. death is believed to be due to heart trouble.
