Money and stocks dull yet strong market notes
The Boston money market was firm with a 6 percent Clearing House rate. Cail loans quoted 6 to 7 percent, time money 5 to 6 percent, mercantile paper 5 to 6 percent. Boston and New York exchanges rose and fell year over year while balances shifted. Sugar stocks led gains, Reading rose, and Union Pacific earnings rose about 10 percent for February. A special Ene Telegraph meeting May consider Texas syndicate buyout of Southwestern Telegraph & Telephone stock. Lake Superior copper mine reports for March.
