Boston Democratic leaders conferred late as Governor Douglas refused to nominate W. T. A. Fitz gerald to the Police Board. They fear renewed Hamlin and Gaston faction clashes in the state committee wrangle.

Ralph W. Kline 26, artist, was fatally stabbed by Jennie Good 18 during a fishing outing by the Little Conestoga near Long Park. After a quarrel she allegedly threatened to cut out his heart and stabbed him when he urged her to. He lies unconscious in a hospital. she fled and is at large.
Miss Lizzie Steele of East Cambridge was badly burned when a lamp exploded as she tried to light it at 10 Berkshire Street. The blaze was put out by her brother before the flames caused fatal injuries, and she was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in serious condition.
Mrs. Hannah Schofield aged 70 and widow of Joseph A. Schofield was found unconscious across a kitchen stove at her Hyde Park home. She suffered severe burns and medical staff say recovery is impossible. She had been in ill health and it is believed a fainting spell led to the fall.
