Donation drive raises flood relief fund to 140000 dollars

The West flood relief fund swelled by 20000 bringing total subscriptions to 140924.22. The Red Cross store at 125 Purchase Street received clothing and supplies while Governor Foss allowed use of state armories for entertainments with proceeds to relief. Contributions were compiled by the office of Lee Higginson & Co. and list numerous individuals and organizations from Boston and beyond.

Flood Crest Seen As Ohio River Near Record Heights

Cincinnati March 31 The Ohio River at Cincinnati is expected to crest near 69.7 feet around midnight marking the flood peak. The rise slowed today, eastern points show receding while western sections report continued increases and widespread destruction downstream.
