Elevator accident kills two men in Randolph building
A fatal elevator incident in the Randolph building at 468 Harrison avenue left two men dead. Watchman James Wall found John Reece, president of the Reece Buttonhole Machine Company, unconscious at the elevator shaft and another worker crushed at the top. Reece, 48, from Brookline, later died at City Hospital. The unidentified worker, likely a Morse & Wyman Elevator Works employee of Granite street, South Boston, died at the scene. Reece had attempted to stop the moving car after seeing the danger on the third floor. Medical Examiner Dra ft was notified. A letter found on Reece named George W Moore of East Boston.

Mystery Man Ormsby Dies Solitary in Roslindale Home
William Ormsby died March 11 in a Roslindale house kept alone after years of wandering. He lived unseen for days before discovery, suffered from pulmonary consumption worsened by cold and hunger, and bore injuries not deemed fatal. Ormsby claimed to be a student writing a history, supported by a monthly secret livelihood possibly from Canadian relatives. His past remained largely undisclosed.

Salvation Army Parades Drum Permit Denied by Malden Board
At a Malden meeting on March 31 the Mayor and Aldermen unanimously refused the Salvation Army a parade permit and bass drum in the streets. Three petitions were presented from Captain Faulkner and locals, a good citizenship group, and A P A Council 140. Some officials cited defiance of law and disorder as reasons for the vote.
