Shotgun Accident Injures Poneto Man
Solomon Shoemaker, 50, of Poneto, suffered a severe shotgun accident while trying to load a shell in a twenty gauge gun. The blast shredded his right hand, severing the palmar artery. Dr. Shoemaker treated the wound and expects recovery barring lockjaw.

Pence Funeral Brings Mrs Pence Home from Independence
The remains of Mrs. Sam Pence arrived Friday morning from Independence Kansas where she died Wednesday. Her husband and infant accompanied them. She had malaria fever worsened to heart failure and died after a rapid decline. Funeral held at the Methodist church Saturday at 10 led by Rev L A Beeks with Daughters of Rebekah in attendance.
