In Warren the telephone rate dispute ended with merchants and residents aligned against a planned price rise. Officials originally suggested higher business line rates while residential phones stayed the same, but public pressure led to restoring old prices and ending the conflict. The Warren exchange now serves many phones.

A. L. Garboden’s Salem church Sunday school class near Do amestic was photographed Saturday afternoon. Twenty married women attended, all present, forming a notably fine group. Members include Mesdame Ricrie, Blocker, Bears, Xinn Schlwagenauf, Gentis, Green, Chas, Bierie, Md Bluman, French, Jake Bierie, Sawyer, Cory, Jacobs, Bowers, Miller and Speheger.

Samuel O Coffield son of Thomas Coffield and Delilah Crawford Coffield was born in Huntington County Indiana on June 30 1869. He married Cora Ball in Pulaski County Indiana on September 4 1895 and had two daughters. He died June 5 1904 aged 34 years 11 months 6 days leaving wife daughter father mother six siblings and many relatives.

Appraised at 600 dollars for lots 9 and 10 and 1100 dollars for lots 2 15 and 16 with a 22 by 40 foot cutout from lot 15. Cash terms with purchaser applications accepted at guardian residence after June 70th.
In Wells County Indiana Sheriff J R Johnston will sell at public sale on July 2 between 10 am and 4 pm at the courthouse door in Bluffton the rents and profits of a seven year term on Lot No.4 in Samuel J. Jacksons addition Liberty Center. If rents do not satisfy the decree including interest and costs the fee simple of the real estate will be exposed to sale to discharge the decree. The action involves Robert K Thompson as plaintiff and Owen W East and Sarah A East as defendants. The sales are to settle a decree of two hundred forty two dollars and thirty eight cents. The sale is per order of the Wells County court with attorneys Todd and Gordon.
Horace Huber and Gertle Wisehart obtained a marriage license. The local notice lists their names among other civic records and marks the couple’s upcoming nuptials in the community.
The Wells County Board of Commissioners will on July 2 1904 open bids for a single allotment gravel road contract.
