Deer Attack Averted After Buck Goads Feeding Mrs. Garrett
Mrs. Garrett feeds five park deer including a large four year old buck. The buck horned her causing a slip and bruise while Grandma Funk intervened and was cut by the animal. H J Johnson then drove the deer off with a club. All have largely recovered from the incident.

Stolen Mare and Buggy Missing From Markle Area Barn
Lee Davis of two miles northeast of Markle reports a theft last Sunday night. A valuable mare weighing about 1300 pounds, a new green plush cushioned buggy with a light top, three plush lap robes, and several horse blankets were taken. Tracks pointed toward Bluffton. no further trace found. Davis offers 25 reward for recovery and 25 for arrest of the thief.

Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Klick Shocks Community
Mrs. Elizabeth Klick, relict of Emanuel Klick, died unexpectedly last Sunday night after a day of normal health. Born February 17, 1833 in Lebanon county, Pa, she married June 14, 1465 and leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ed Bartlemsy, Mrs. Fred Ashbauch, and Mrs. Robert Saurer. Funeral today at ten o clock at the Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a devout member.
