A flurry of regional social and economic activity is recorded in Bloomfield and surrounding townships. Doctors, traders, farmers, and educators travel between Vicksburg Linton Worthington Stafford and Lyons while guests visit families in Indianapolis Chicago Los Angeles and elsewhere.
The senior class spent a week in farewell activities. Highlights included a fishing party, progressive parties hosted by Miss Wilma Slinkard Esther Slinkard and Mildred Wymer, and gatherings hosted by Miss Nona Stalcup. Plans for class day exercises were canceled due to lighting issues. Commencement occurs this evening at the opera house.

An auto owned by Her schel Johnson and driven by his sister Ethel Johnson, with sister Cora aboard, struck a cast iron post at the Trust building corner. Ethel misjudged the turn but the slow-moving car sustained minor damage: one headlight, fender, and the post opening were affected. two passengers were shaken but unharmed.
Worthington resident Edward S. Palmer, a veteran printer and former Lyons Herald editor, died Wednesday at his home from pneumonia and liver cancer. Survived by widow two sons and two daughters. Funeral services held at Worthington today at 2 30 p m.
Harvey Giltner of Lyons, about sixty, was found dead in the yard at his sister Mrs. Flora Reed’s home this morning. The cause and time of death are not known. Giltner had been living with his sister for several years.

McIntosh and assistants finished most of the year’s work and expect to handle further office business from the camp.
John Orr was appointed mayor of Jasonville at a special city council meeting to fill the vacancy caused by Dempsey resignation. The appointment is temporary pending a permanent choice at the next regular meeting.
The Churches J. D. Smith pastor announces Sunday school at 9 30 a m. Sermon titled The Church and Present World Crisis. A report of the Governor s meeting with ministers held last Tuesday. Epworth League anniversary program Sunday evening at 7 30 by more than 30 young people.
Pastor G. W. Horn leads Sunday services but no preaching due to his absence. Sabbath school at 9 30 a m Christian Endeavor at 6 30 p m. He may preach a second Sabbath in Celina Ohio for a potential call. Regular service resumes May 27 with morning and Hicks Presbyterian evening service.
