Former Bloomfield Businessman F. B. Brooks Dies in Kansas
F B Brooks a Bloomfield business man died at a Wichita Kansas hospital on Sunday May 6 after a lingering illness. He helped build a Anthony Kansas wholesale grocery to a 700000 annual business and was survived by his wife Carry Gray and one of five children. Burial was in Anthony Kansas with Masonic rites and Knights Templar procession.

Bloomfield School Exhibit Showcases Student Work
Last Friday Bloomfield schools opened for exhibit day attracting parents and patrons. Danctions featured tiny tots drawings and writing, doll houses, maps, historical charts, bones and muscles diagrams, and domestic science and manual training projects reflecting patient teacher effort and student skill.

Washington Town Ship Farmer Dies
Marion Jackson, well known farmer of Washington township, died at his son Jacob Jackson’s home Monday night about ten. He had been blind in recent years and lived with his sister Mrs. Samuel Ax of Lyons. He is survived by one child, and was respected for his honesty. Funeral arrangements unavailable at press time.

Oldest Stockton Township Resident Dies at 82
Daniel Fields, born and lifelong resident of Stockton township, died last Friday at age eighty two years, four months, and seven days after a second stroke. He homesteaded land bought from the Government at two dollars per acre and lived there from early manhood. Survived by four children, two sons and two daughters.

Back to the Soil at Indiana University Students Enlist to Farm
The movement called Back to the Soil at Indiana University sees over two hundred students return home to plant and harvest crops. Volunteers will record daily farm work for university credit and still face army service obligations. University planted sixty acres of potatoes and will expand the garden with student help. Many students left for the army navy national guard or ROTC duties.

Pendleton Alive After Death Rumor Sparks Town News
A town paper reported Taylor Pendleton had died but later corrected the notice saying he is alive. He has been in poor health for two years and fainted at home, causing facial injuries before neighbors found him and called for medical help.

Obituary of Aaron D. Hennon of Switz City Indiana
Aaron D. Hennon born January 22 1842 in Ohio died May 6 1917 at his Switz City Indiana home aged 75 years 3 months 14 days. He married Reena Brock September 28 1871 at Owensburg Indiana and they had seven children. He moved from Owensburg to Switz City twenty four years ago and remained active in the Methodist church and Sunday school as a trustee. Survived by wife three daughters three sons thirteen grandchildren three sisters and two brothers. Funeral at Switz City Methodist Church conducted by Rev Dyer with interment in local cemetery. The family thanks neighbors for aid during sickness and burial.
