Henry Lester of Newberry and many others from Newberry, Jasonville, Linton, Stafford township and surrounding areas visited Bloomfield on business. Officials and professionals including S N Yeoman, Homer Combs, Cary Harrel, and Claude Gregg were seen at court or in town. A hospital stay for Forest Dixon and bridge project bids for Latta Creek and White River near Worthington were also reported.
The Indiana Power and Water Company of Bloomfield petitions the Public Service Commission for authority to acquire Vincennes Electric Light Company for 75062.40, City Electric Lighting Company of Vincennes for 525437.60, Continental Utilities Company at Petersburg 47850, and at Dugger 30800. It asks to finance the merger with bonds 452000, capital stock 147000, and notes 170000. H L Clarke serves as president. Bernard Korbly is the attorney.
The Masonic lodge in Masonville raised a flag over its new building yesterday evening at six o clock. State Senator James H. Humphreys of Linton gave the principal address. A special LaFayette Day meeting followed with several candidates raised to Master Mason and a lunch served. Visiting brothers from Bicknell Linton and Switz City attended along with Bloomfield lawyers Allen G. Pate and Will R. Vosloh.
Citizens of Worthington and vicinity vote 26 for the bridge at the old White River location and 6 for moving to a new site. The meeting clarifies the decision preserving the original crossing.

Hurschel Killian, a Newberry area farmer, was badly injured when his auto was hit by a freight interurban at a crossing between Indianapolis and Martinsville. He suffered multiple fractures and serious head injuries. he is in an Indianapolis hospital with non fatal outlook provided no internal injuries worsen. His wife and W D Killian traveled to be with him.
The Rev Campbell, previously assigned to this church, led the services and now resides in Bloomington.
Arthur Ritter, released on habeas corpus, was brought from Washington to Daviess county and charged with aiding in the escape of a juvenile accomplice. Bill Hamilton and Leonard Beavers, still jailed on other charges, face the same added count.
Frank Henderson colored is wanted by railroad officials on theft charges. He was arrested near the Monon depot by Sheriff Moss and turned over to Monon detective John A. Hays. Henderson escaped arrest at his Bedford home during a search for stolen car merchandise.

The train carrying members of the French war mission touring the Midwest left the track near Arcola Illinois on Monday at seven o'clock. The engine and two Pullman cars derailed but no one was injured. A preceding train passed safely as a precaution. Cause of the accident is unknown. Detours were arranged, schedules altered, and crowds awaiting the visitors were disappointed.
C F McIntosh purchased Wilson's Park at Worthington and will keep it for public meetings and agricultural fairs. Town residents celebrate the reversal of a plan to convert the grounds into a corn field and note the lack of another suitable site for such events nearby.
