The Willys-Overland Company will present a motion picture demonstration of the Willys-Knight sleeve valve motor at the Colonial theater next Tuesday May 1. The showing explains horsepower and revolutions with an animated power curve and includes an introductory feature on the Gibson Raiders Indiana Illinois dealers group visit to the Overland factory.
A secretary's letter to federal clubs requests help for a noted dune country pageant near Chicago set for May 30 to June 3. The event aims to promote saving dunes as a national park through an historical pageant and evening masque along Lake Michigan shores, with strong club participation urged.

A Worthington Times reader letter describes a reunion of relatives visiting Civil War veteran Ad Sanders at his Arcadia California bungalow on Baldwin Ranch. The 84 year old veteran, his wife and daughter attend the gathering with narratives of the Civil War and old Worthington days.
A birthday dinner was held Sunday at the home of Lewis E Letsinger in Jasonville Indiana honoring him and his sister Mrs Phoebe A Warrick. Letsinger is seventy three and Warrick seventy seven. About one hundred fifty guests attended as relatives neighbors and two local families. Only survivors of a family of thirteen, the parents died at ages sixty nine and ninety eight.
Mrs. Russell, aged sixty eight, wife of John Russell near El Nora, was adjudged insane last week in Joseph Hastings Justice of Peace court. She bore twenty four children all boys, now three living, weights eighty five pounds at five feet tall, married fifty one years.
A barn owned by Newt Bogard in Taylor township was struck by lightning during the Tuesday night thunderstorm, causing its destruction along with five hundred bushels of corn. No injuries reported.
A blaze destroyed a barn and contents including wheat, hay, harness, and vehicles worth between 2200 and 2506 dollars with insurance of 1450 dollars. The barn itself valued at about 1000 dollars. A prior lightning fire in the same township, involved Tom Bogard, brother of Newt, destroying a barn and contents.
The Abram Cement Silo and Construction Company, Indiana, will locate a Bloomfield home office with a factory at Elliston near three railroad crossings. Directors include Dr. W. R. Cravens and others from Bloomfield and Dugger. Officers elected. plant expected to start producing in May. The silo features inner sealed reinforced construction with no external bands. Ira M. Abram is the inventor. fifteen silos built prove satisfactory.
A Linton meeting organized the temperance and woman suffrage forces to select delegates for the Constitutional convention. Representatives came from Bloomfield Worthington and Jasonville. E K Ashcraft elected chair and Joe E Beasley secretary. Committees named and plans set for a mass meeting May 15 to perfect the Greene County Temperance and Woman Suffrage Constitutional Society.
A Sunday program at With the Churches led by Pastor J. D. Smith invites boys and girls to a 10:30 a.m. sermon and an evening layman’s program. A contest on Acts of the Apostles offers prizes to five winners and a prize for the outsider who stands longest.

The Magnolia sighted a German submarine off the English coast on April 19 as the first shot of the war was fired. The shell hit the periscope and while oil appeared on the water, the U-boat’s fate remains unconfirmed and the gun credited Teddy fired the first shot.
Under supervision of janitor David Kidd Zeno Hollowell assisted by Daniel Inman mounted two twelve pounder brass cannons in the court house yard. They sit on a concrete base about three and a half feet high with an angle of about thirty degrees, one directed northwest the other northeast.

Also offers 40c per ent for old iron delivered to Bloomfield Ice & Produce Co.
President William Lowe Bryan orders a ten acre Dunn orchard section and several adjoining lots east of Forest Place set aside for growing potatoes. The move aims to produce highly valued spuds on campus land.
