New York, Nov 16. It is reported the president may propose a national currency reform plan in his December message. He favors the Baltimore convention’s plan with a small bank tax to fund a guarantee for insolvent banks. He seeks expert banker input and may appoint a nonpartisan currency commission to study reform.
Washington news reports Chairman Sayres of the House appropriations committee plans to arrive November 20 to advance bills before the December 3 session.
