Helena Leads In Montana Capital Referendum Returns

Corrected results from Montana’s 198 precincts show Anaconda with 18,361 votes and Helena with 18,341, after initial tallies of 194 precincts. Helena committees claim most Anaconda strongholds reported and anticipate a substantial Helena majority despite remaining precincts in Lewis and Clark and agricultural districts. In 214 precincts, Anaconda has 19,328 to Helena 19,042.

Wisconsin Returns Hint Republican Victory In 1894

Wisconsin election returns show Wampaea and St Croix counties with a net Republican gain of 47 and an expected nine Republican congressmen.
