Running Deer Shoot Sunday at Big Timber club range
The Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its annual running deer shoot five miles north of Big Timber on Highway 19 next Sunday. Prizes include a leather rifle scabbard for the high man a tooled leather handbag for the high lady and a hunter axe and knife set for the high junior. Entry is 1.00 with NRA sighting in offered free of charge starting about 9 a.m.

TOPS clubs across Montana plan to attend the state convention in Big Timber on April 15. Marlene Manders of DePere Wisconsin will supervise events as the 1960 state queen, princess, and prince are crowned from Teen-age TOPS groups. Wilburt B. Smith of Billings was named the low bidder for temporary star route mail service between Billings and Big Timber. Postmaster Harold McLauchlin announced the award on Monday. Smith will carry mail daily for $6,000 and about 67 777.77 miles yearly. Over 40 bids were received. the high bid reached $21,097.

Mrs Addie Baker Dies at Age 90 in Montana
Mrs. Addie C. Baker, 90, immigrant to the west at the turn of the century, died of a heart attack last Thursday at her daughter’s home on lower Sweet Grass. She was born January 10, 1870 in Elk River Minnesota and married Scott Baker in 1896. The family moved from Blaine Washington to Big Timber in 1919 and later to lower Sweet Grass in 1943. She is survived by two daughters Nina Bainter and Della Armstrong, a son Walter Baker, nine grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Low Robert Groom with singing and organ accompaniment, interment at Mountain View.

Farewell for Osens at Glasston Ranch Move to Big Timber
A large gathering Saturday afternoon bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Toby Osen at their Glasston area ranch as they move to Big Timber into the Kermit Luttsch home they bought. They sold the ranch to their son Albert after 35 years on the property. A potluck lunch followed and the Osens received a purse of silver. Also listed are high open bowling scores for the week with several players topping 200.
