Judge C H Loud, 77, died of pneumonia at his Miles City home yesterday. He came to Montana in 1887 with the Northern Pacific engineering crew and made Miles City his home. He served in the second Montana legislative assembly, as Custer County attorney, on the constitutional convention, and as Seventh Judicial District judge for 12 years. He was also Miles City city attorney.

Washington Oct 18 Financial reports from the nations biggest cities show a majority reduced both debt and operating costs. Of 37 cities surveyed, per capita debt fell in 24 and per capita operating costs declined in several. Omaha led with debt per citizen dropping from 123.09 to 110.01. Grand Rapids cut operating costs from 37.59 to 28.18. Rochester posted the largest per capita cost increase at 10.79.
