In six inches of snow at an unplowed field, Herders beat Absarokee 60 to 0. Junior linebacker Ron Henry returned a fourth quarter interception 40 yards for the only score, with Bill Hanson sealing a key block. Chuck Rein caught a second quarter pass for Huskie.
Funeral services for Raymond Red Boe 38 were conducted October 16 at Lowry Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene W Nilsen officiating. He died after injuries from a highway 10 truck accident. Survivors include his mother, siblings, daughter, stepson, and several nieces and nephews.
The Big Timber B football squad finished the 1971 season with a 2-2-1 mark. The Herders defeated Red Lodge and Columbus, lost to Absarokee and Harlowton, and tied Livingston 12-12 in the final game.
