Rev. L O Onerheim former Big Timber Melville pastor died of cancer in Brookings hospital early Sunday. He served many area churches including Bozeman Livingston Reed Point and built the present parsonage in Big Timber. Survivors: four daughters Gratia Hauge Jerry Simonson Margaret Onerheim Ruth Salem. son Bernard Onerheim plus ten grandchildren. One son Luther preceded him in death.

Strobel Case Set for October 27
Helena Mrs Frances Strobel of Big Timber will have her manslaughter conviction appeal heard by the Montana Supreme Court on October 27. Strobel was convicted by a Sweet Grass County jury on October 16 1954 in the highway death of Laurel truck driver Gerald Little. Little died in the cab of his oil tanker after a collision on U S highway 10 east of Big Timber. Judge Benjamin E Berg sent Strobel to five years in prison, sentence suspended on jury recommendation.

Ruth Essex Dies Unexpectedly of Heart Attack
Ruth Essex, a pioneer of Sweet Grass county, died Saturday morning from a heart attack while packing her ranch belongings near Melville. Born December 1, 1894, she lived in Hardin and managed the Franklin ranch, later taking over the family property with Thorvald Simonsen as foreman. She is survived by four cousins and was laid to rest at Mountain View with Lowry Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Rader Sentenced to Two Years for Grand Larceny
Chas. Rader pleaded guilty to grand larceny before Judge Berg in district court yesterday and was sentenced to two years in the state penitentiary at Deer Lodge. He admitted stealing money and guns from the Timber Bar and was apprehended at Logan shortly after the robbery was discovered. Sheriff’s officers took him to Deer Lodge today.
