Judge Berg Attends Funeral for Court Reporter M. E. Hawkins
Judge B E Berg attended the funeral of M E Hawkins in Billings at the Congregational church after finishing a term. Hawkins died Monday from a pulmonary embolism at age 47, leaving a widow and two children. He had been a long time Montana court reporter, working 18 years in Billings and earlier for the Columbus Democrat and federal court.

Two Butte Men Die In Automobile Accident
Helena Independent reports two prominent Butte men connected with the public school system died in a crash last night. Frank Mutch sixty a stock clerk for Butte school district No 1 and H W Daley utility engineer for the district were killed when their light panel Ford truck left the highway ten feet from the viaduct south of Helena and tumbled into the creek bottom about one hundred feet below. The men were transporting band instruments to Helena for the Butte Helena high football game when the vehicle plunged sixty feet then rolled forty feet to rest on the creek bank near a prior Intermountain Transportation bus crash site.

Rites Held For Mrs. Jane Harper At Local Lutheran Church
Funeral crowds filled the Lutheran church and Sunday School room for Mrs. Jane Harper. Rev. A A Holbeck led the service with three solos by Mrs. Clarence Savchenko and organist Miss Lillian Tucker. Pallbearers from nearby towns accompanied her interment beside her husband at Mountain View. Mrs. Harper was longtime friend to the hungry and sick across American Fork and Fish Creek.
