Tourist Dies of Heart Attack at Cort Hotel Stop
Mrs. W. A. Smith, about 60, tourist from Blue Earth Minnesota, died Saturday morning of a heart attack about five minutes after resting at the Cort hotel in Big Timber. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were passing through when illness struck at 7:30 a.m. Dr. Baskett arrived too late. body sent to Blue Earth by Lowry ambulance Saturday evening.

Yellowstone Assn Approves By-Laws and Elects Officers
Leonard Esp was elected president of the Yellowstone Valley Protective association board at the courthouse Tuesday evening. J. W. Lee became vice president and Rudolf Forster secretary treasurer. By-laws allow any rural land owner in the Yellowstone valley between Livingston and the Reed Point bridge to join. The group authorized officers to seek meetings with the state highway commission and Northern Pacific Railway officials.

Charles Olmstead Dies in Great Falls
Charles Olmstead 90 of 1109 10th Ave N Montana resident since 1891 died May 17 after brief illness. Born Sept 21 1866 in East Windsor New York he worked in hardware gas tractor and electrical businesses across several Montana cities before settling in Great Falls in 1911 and again in 1944. Survivors include son Charles D Olmstead daughter-in-law Ruby Olmstead two granddaughters and two great grandchildren.

Jim Schneider and Palmer Fins vik attended a district Scout meet in Livingston where ribbon awards for the spring Camporee held May 17 18 19 were announced. The Rattlesnake patrol earned a blue ribbon and Flaming Arrow a yellow ribbon for third place. attendees listed include Raymond Heem John Paulson Richard Hager Randy Mosness Lorents Grosfeld Bill Dempster Dan Nevin Bobby Klindt Jonathan VanDaveer Sex Ultman Roger Hoem and Al Stoessel. Scoutmaster Harold Hanson also participated. Troop 21 won a blue ribbon for its May 4 Livingston exposition signalling and tower building display.

Vacation Bible school starts in the Big Timber Lutheran church education unit on Monday morning June 3. Classes run 9 to 12 for kindergarten through eighth grade for two weeks ending June 14 with bus routes to Springdale Grey Cliff up the Boulder and north of town. The Big Timber Lutheran Church concludes its 50th anniversary with a Sunday dedication of the new Big Timber Youth Education building.
