The narrator and friends insist the fish weighed about ten pounds, while the mother humorously insists the biggest catches are the ones that disappear. Funeral at Lowry chapel Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. P N Bennett. pallbearers named. interment in Livingston cemetery beside husband Andrew M. Clark who died in 1932. Survived by two sons Ben A. Clark Big Timber and John D. Clark Sacramento. siblings W D McKenzie Big Timber and John McKenzie Miami. six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Jo Ann Cremer will be valedictorian and Donald Phelps salutatorian at the rural eighth grade commencement at the high school auditorium Monday evening. Women of the Moose Big Timber chapter 1013 will meet Wednesday May 26 at 8 oclock in the Moose hall. Purchase Home in Billings Mr and Mrs Frank Kloeckner left Wednesday for Billings where they have purchased a home. Major Operation Mrs Lester Coil is recovering from a major operation performed last week at the Chico hospital. She may be brought home this weekend.

Judge Berg presided in district court yesterday over an objection to a creditor claim in the Jessie Blair Arvidson estate. Mrs. E. L. Frang seeks 8900 for nursing, food, housework and other aid shown across five years, with A. E. Steensland representing the objector William Johnson. The case was taken under advisement. witnesses for the claimant included Dr. Baskett, Dr. Claiborn, and several others, while George Gordon and Marie Nevin testified for the objector.
Sherman William Fanning 82, a well known former Sweet Grass county rancher and father of Mrs. Branson Miles of McLeod, died at his Washougal river home in Washington at 12 30 a m Monday after a year of ill health. Funeral services were set for this afternoon at Swanks funeral home in Camas with burial in Camas cemetery. He was born near Tangent Oregon September 18 1865, the youngest son of Elias E and Mary Gledhill Fanning, Oregon pioneers of 1852.
James P. Waters of Manhattan was elected commander of district No. 7 at the spring meeting. He succeeds Mike L. Webb of Livingston. Jack Harding of West Yellowstone was named district vice commander. Installations occur at the Montana department convention in Great Falls June 27-29. Auxiliary units chose Mrs. Adeline Baskett of Big Timber as president and Mrs. Helen Morrow of Bozeman as vice president.
The heavy rain and hail battered Deer Creek and Dry Creek regions, washing away bridges on Lower and Upper Deer creeks and flooding highways near Dry Creek. A bunkhouse overturned its foundation, animals perished, and alfalfa hay suffered. Precipitation reached .80 inches in Big Timber with 90 degree heat this week. Glasgow hit 102 and Miles City 100.
The Fortnightly Study club holds its last meeting of the year on Thursday May 27 with a dinner at Eaton's Inn followed by a book review at Mrs. Dorothy Traver's home by Mrs. Wesley Walker Officers for next year to be elected. Members reviewed many titles including The Miracle of the Bells and The Big Sky.
The American Legion, Boy Scouts and other groups will join a May 30 memorial parade starting at 9:45 a.m. at the courthouse. A ceremony at the cemetery features a firing squad, taps and flag decorations, followed by a river tribute with flowers. The parade order lists Col. Wallace Huidekoper as marshal and includes colors, drum corps, auxiliaries, and scout groups.
