Helena May 12 A second appeal to county commissioners and district judges asks they refrain from sending alcoholics and borderline senility cases to the Warm Springs state hospital because of severe crowding. Dr Byron Pampel notes 1904 patients listed, 189 over capacity, after an 85 year old Beaverhead county patient died within eight hours of admission.

Former partner of Buffalo Bill dies at 86
H Montgomery Gerrans 86 former hotel operator and cofounder of Cody Wyoming with William F Cody died after a long career in hotels. Born in Dunkirk New York he started as a Buffalo railroad clerk at 15 later ran the Iroquois hotel in Buffalo and owned the Grand Union in Saratoga Springs with William Wooley. He built the Seneca hotel in Rochester and retired in 1923. His close friend was author Edward Noyes Westcott.

A local Boy Scouts of America court of honor was held at the American Legion hall with a Scout mothers dinner and a boy auction to stress scouting value. New tender foot and second class scouts were recognized including Raymond Ryan who earned life scout, under the supervision of Scout Executive George W. Roskie. Montana counties may supplement old age assistance and aid to dependent children from general relief funds if available. Attorney General H. J. Freebourn ruled that grants in aid from state funds become county funds when emergency budgets are adopted.
