Body of Sally Allen Found in Yellowstone River
The body of 70 year old Sally Allen, Mrs George A Allen, was found Tuesday in the Yellowstone River about 12 miles downstream from Paradise ranch. Sheriff and deputies searched after she disappeared Sunday, with volunteers probing the river bottom amid muddy water. Sally Allen, a Park county pioneer, had returned from a California trip and was staying at her granddaughter’s Bozeman home before returning to her Paradise valley ranch.

Texas Trail Herds Reappear At Roundup
One of the largest cattle shipments into Montana since the Texas trail era was unloaded at Cushman station for the Western Cattle Company. The 31-car train carried about 1,100 Hereford steers heifers and calves and moved to the Willow Creek ranch northwest of Roundup.

Thomas Newspalmer Dies in Billings at 74
Thomas Newspalmer aged 74 died in a Billings hospital Friday morning after gland and heart ailments. He lived in Livingston early, later homesteaded near the Boulder river area with uncle Doc Dougherty, raised a small Band of sheep, and was known locally for his humor. Funeral was held at St Josephs church in Livingston and the body shipped to New York for burial in the family plot. Local pallbearers included C C Nicholson and W J Hannah.

Navy completes perilous rescue of 33 men trapped since Tuesday aboard the submarine Squalus off New Hampshire. The submerged craft now holds 26 dead as the final eight men are brought to the surface at 12 30 a m. A diving bell remained 150 feet down for nearly four hours while air hoses supplied breathable air to the trapped crew.
