The Lewistown Argus reports a trusted eastern-based route for the Milwaukee road through Fergus county. It describes a path touching Miles City then Musselshell crossing, up Musselshell valley to Harlowton, using Montana railroad lines to Glewistown and Loulhard, then continuing to Butte, with possible Kendall branding down to Lewis. The Montana railroad is said to be purchased by Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul and transfer will occur when the Milwaukee begins use.
