Herders End Season At Divisional Tourney
The Sweet Grass County Herders finished 1970 71 basketball with 19 wins and 8 losses, placing third in both the conference and district. In Livingston the Herders beat Boulder 69 66, lost to Lodge Grass 64 56, and then Whitehall 65 61 to end the season and set up state tournament contention for Red Lodge and Huntley Project.

The Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club held its annual Schutzen Match on Sunday February 28 with JayCee members meeting March 3 for a 15 member 8 guest session. Events included rodeo planning for August 8 and a rural basketball report, plus an amateur boxing show planned for March 27 with 22 youths from Yellowstone County.
