Big Timber residents consider a 100 by 20 foot pool with a 9 to 3 foot depth, plus a children’s wading pool, in the city park north west corner. Volunteers are sought for labor and donations, with Lions club and local businesses aiding layout and folding a 48 page tournament booklet.

Rudolph Wendt piano Miss Hasmig Gedickian soprano and John Lester baritone from the State University music school faculty will perform at one o clock Monday March 15 in the Big Timber high school auditorium sponsored by the local band. The trio tour Montana during the university between quarters period and bring diverse classical training and stage experience from Eastman Juilliard Shenandoah Northwestern and European opera study.

Hazel Alice Skaarland and Robert John Hughes were married at the Big Timber Lutheran church in a four o'clock ceremony. Rev. E E Tollefson officiated the double ring rite with Evelyn Tucker as bridesmaid and Harold Clouse as best man. The couple will reside in Richland Washington after a wedding trip. The bride is a Sweet Grass county high school graduate and former dental nurse. the groom, Park county high school graduate, works at the atomic energy plant in Richland.

Sentenced For Stealing Hogs
Ronald Irvin Myers and John Francis Cudney of Grey Cliff were sentenced to one year in Deer Lodge state prison by Judge Ben Harwood after pleading guilty to first degree burglary. They admitted taking hogs from Northern Pacific stock cars at Grey Cliff on Feb 17 and 22, selling two in Billings and four in Bozeman. Investigation involved local sheriff, Northern Pacific agents, and the FBI due to interstate shipments.

Legion Loses To Lewistown In High-Scoring Battle
The American Legion fell 76 to 85 to the Lewistown Midway Chips in a fast game Saturday evening. Herb McCauley led scoring with 37 points and Deegan added 17 as Ellison brothers contributed in the loss. The Midways shared the spotlight with Stephens and Otto at 22 points each.
Impressive Charter Ceremony Welcomes Big Timber Troop 21
Big Timber's Boy Scout Troop 21 was formally installed in Yellowstone Valley Council. A. C. McDonald accepted the charter from Jake Gonder as colors were presented by Livingston scouts. Awards, investiture, and multiple visiting troops marked a ceremonial kickoff with Scout Trail to Citizenship shown.

Sweet Grass Farm Loan Association Holds Annual Meeting
Sweet Grass Farm Loan Association held its annual meeting last Friday with regional manager C C Upton of the Federal Land Bank of Spokane reporting strong financials and that over half of the bank’s new loan business came from association members. Secretary-treasurer M B Yates presented a year end progress report showing 12 loans totaling 39 900 and a capital stock of 38 092 50 in Spokane along with 3 500 in bonds and 6 639 48 in surplus and reserves. Leif Anderson and Jake Frank were re elected directors, with holdover directors Leif Anderson H Ben Tettle H A Ross and Gerhard Woltermann. A Pythian Sisters supper preceded the business session led by president Leif Anderson.
