In Logan Montana on June 23 burglars entered the local general store and post office taking four dollars in pennies three canvas gloves and candy bars. Joe Metlen dies after operation in Minnesota hospital
Joe Metlen 49 a Beaverhead county stockman and state legislator died Tuesday in a Rochester Minnesota hospital following an emergency operation. He went to Rochester by plane last Saturday and is survived by his brother Dale and his mother Mrs Verona E Metlen. Metlen served in the Montana House from 1929 onward and chaired key committees including revenue and taxation and stock growing and grazing. He was a former president of the Montana Stockgrowers association and studied at Dillon public schools Montana State University Denver University and Stanford.
