400 Attend Fair View Field Day at Melville ranch
The State Junior Field Day sponsored by the South Montana Angus Association drew about 400 attendees at Fair View ranch Melville. Sunny weather with brief afternoon showers failed to dampen enthusiasm as eight states sent visitors led by Mrs. Oscar Johnson from Clifton Texas. Winners in youth contests included Marjorie Scammone, Doreen Scammone, Roberta Cremer, Lee Langhus, Wayne Larson, Gene Langhus, Bruce Swanson and Dean Holmes with multiple age divisions and club calf bets, weight guessing, and calf scramble events.

Lamb sales in Bynum 950 mixed blackface at 16.75 up to 2 pounds, Power 400 mixed white face at 17c up to 80 lbs, Dupuyer 1,100 whiteface at 16c, Augusta 100 mixed blackface at 16.75 up to 90 lbs with 10c cwt over that weight.

Mr and Mrs Arnold Warp were honored Friday at a silver wedding anniversary party in the Lutheran parish hall. A potluck supper served about 100 friends and relatives. The couple married June 20 1935 at the White's cabin on the Gallatin river. They have a son Robert in Santa Ana Calif and two daughters Linda and Dixie. Relatives from Billings attended.

Bloodmobile drives Red Cross blood program to 3900 hospitals
The Red Cross blood program, age 11, will serve 3,900 hospitals and provide 40 percent of blood used by doctors. County chairman Mrs. Ione Bristor says blood is vital in accidents and for leukemia patients. a pint can save lives. The Bloodmobile appears July 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion hall. residents urged to donate.

Funeral services for Roy L. Gunderson in Baker
Funeral services for Roy L. Gunderson 36 of Sidney were held at the Lutheran church in Baker with Rev. Oliver Jones officiating. Last Rites Held for Mrs. Nancy Bone in Billings
Funeral services for 76 year old Nancy Evalyn Bone were held at Smith's chapel in Billings. She died after a stroke in a Billings hospital and was later moved to Blackwell Oklahoma for burial. Born December 21 1883 in Walnut Ridge Arkansas she married Maurice Bone in Blackwell in 1902. Survived by two daughters Iris Bookout and Lela Viers of Billings a sister Mae Lewis of Ponca City Oklahoma six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Smoking links to heart disease seen as likely but not proven
The 1956 American Heart Association statement noted insufficient evidence for a cause and effect link between smoking and coronary death. Since then more studies show heavy smoking correlates with 50 to 150 percent higher death rates from coronary heart disease in middle aged men. Polio Cases Rise Says Health Service
Washington reports polio rising but claims counts lag behind last year. In the 10 weeks since April 1 there are 135 cases, 100 paralytic, versus 354 cases, 245 paralytic during the same period in the previous year. For the first 23 weeks of 1960 through June 11, states reported 356 polio cases, 255 of them paralytic.
