Good Roads Convention Adopts Permanent Montana Body

The Montana Good Roads convention resolved itself into a permanent organization, naming executive officers from Billings to Kalispell and setting the second week of June for future meetings. It endorsed a five-branch apportionment by counties and cities, changed the group’s name to Montana Good Roads congress, and selected Missoula for the next gathering. The conference urged creation of a state highway authority, university level road studies, uniform highway laws, county bonds for road work, and use of convict labor for construction. The event drew wide attendance and was hailed as the state’s largest and most successful convention. Lumber sale notice follows.
