Mark Kathy and Marilyn from Bozeman join Rev Strom and family for a wedding toast at Our Savior's Lutheran Clifton Texas. The couple, married June 11 1939, later served in Minnesota and Iowa before settling in Big Timber in October 1957 for a Lutheran pastorate.

Last Rites For Mrs. Bina Hauge
Mrs. Bina Hauge age 80 died Sunday at Big Timber Rest Home after a three week hospitalization for a stroke. Born August 8 1883 in Sogndahl Norway she emigrated to the United States in 1903 and later lived in Big Timber where she worked for Clark and McKenzie. She married Richard E. Hauge on November 17 1906 in Springdale and had nine children. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Big Timber Lutheran Church with Rev. Ocee Johnson. burial in Mountain View cemetery.

Rev Ben Knopp officiated. The bride wore a white brocaded silk sheath and carried a mum bouquet. Sandra Hetland sister of the groom served as matron of honor. James Myers was best man. A reception followed at the family home with Rev Knopp and relatives present.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Skaarland marked their 25th wedding anniversary with a June 6 gathering at Big Timber creek community hall hosted by their children. Attendees included six of eight children and relatives. a mock wedding for entertainment featured Margaret Skaarland and Charles Basset as bride and groom. Elmer and Agnes Hegdal were married in Big Timber on June 3, 1939 and have spent most of their married life in nearby Niehart and Livingston where he works for the Northern Pacific railroad.

Gloria Bee, a Sweet Grass County graduate, received the Herrick Award at the 41st Annual Woman's Day at Montana State College on June 7. The MSC senior, majoring in home economics, is active in Alpha Lambda Delta Mu Sigma Alpha Phi Upsilon Omicron and Chorale and Montanans, and recently returned from a European singing tour. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Boe of McLeod.

Advance interest and registrations indicate Big Timber will host its largest horseshoe event this weekend. Entries come from across the state with a doubles division added this year starting at 3 p.m. Saturday and singles beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday across four divisions. Class A champion and runner-up qualify for the national tournament later this summer.

Rein couple marks silver wedding at Melville ranch
About 250 relatives and friends joined Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rein at their ranch on June 13 to celebrate 25 years of marriage. A pink and silver wedding cake was cut and served by relatives from Arvada and Melville. The afternoon included visiting, songs by the Melville Meadowlarks, and showing home movies of the original Rein wedding at Melville Lutheran Church.

Malta Man Killed On West Boulder Oil Rig
A 25 year old Malta man Dale X Plouffe died instantly after a fall from an oil rig top on the Boulder two miles east of Livingston. Coroner John Davis cited an 86 foot fall causing a skull fracture and internal injuries. Plouffe, born March 10 1932 in Malta, worked for Montalban Drilling Co of Billings and is survived by his wife Magdalene and parents. Funeral arrangements were set with Franzen Mortuary for Malta.
