Liberty Bell replica to arrive in Big Timber for Wednesday ceremony
A copper Liberty Bell replica, tied to Montana’s Independence Savings Bonds drive, is to arrive in Big Timber on Wednesday at 7 p.m. It will travel from the court house to the Legion building with an escort and patriotic ceremony. The event will feature a guard, drum and bugle corps, and Scouts, with parking restrictions on Third Street and a public invitation to attend.

A large crowd gathered at Bridger Creek school house Saturday to honor Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Myrstol on their silver wedding anniversary. H M Crane spoke on the couple’s lives and presented gifts. The celebration included stories of a Chicago trip, songs, and square dancing led by Wade Nelson.

Three Softball Games Open Week Schedule
The City Club beat the JayCees 19 to 9 to open the softball season. The Explorer Scouts beat the DeMolays 14 to 6, and the JayCees beat the DeMolays 13 to 12. Wedding of Miss Sloan and William Badgley in Big Timber
Miss Carol Sloan daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Sloan of Big Timber and William D Badgley son of Mr and Mrs Floyd Badgley formerly of Big Timber now Idaho were united in marriage at a candlelight ceremony at 7 30 Sunday evening at the Lutheran church Rev E E Tollefson officiated. The church was decorated with honey suckles. Evelyn Sloan sister of the bride was bridesmaid. The reception followed in the parish hall attended by about one hundred relatives and friends with a lace tablecloth three tier cake and bride doll centerpiece. Out of town guests included Elige Badgley and family Billings Earl Badgley Bozeman Harriet Smith Lewistown Mable Fishburn Har fordton and Bush families Livingston.

Roster of Local Groups Support Rodeo Funds for Big Timber
Proceeds from this year's rodeo will fund a county project shared by the American Legion Auxiliary Moose Lodge Boosters Club Lions Club Junior Chamber of Commerce and Legion Auxiliary. Boosters donate 4000 for 1500 extra seats. Moose gives 1000 for purses. Legion contributes net proceeds from two days. county fair board funds and 5000 from Boosters added. Efforts aim to attract big audiences and invite future star appearances with improved facilities.

Four Generations of Hiller Family Celebrate Birthday
Albert Hiller of Big Timber stands with four generations for his eighty second birthday. Present are his eldest daughter Mrs Andrew Thompson, her daughter Mrs Johnnie Klein and Klein's daughter Sandra nine months old, all of Tacoma Washington. Hiller recently returned to Big Timber to live with another daughter Mrs L H Bryan after spending nine months with the Thompson family in Tacoma.

Last Rites Conducted For Isaac Rostad
Funeral services were held for Isaac O. Rostad 92 a Sweet Grass county ranch pioneer at the Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev E E Tollefson officiating. Pallbearers were six of his nephews. Burial was beside his wife in Mountain View. Rostad born in Norway December 16 1857 came to the United States in 1879 and Montana in 1899 where he settled at Lennep and later in Sweet Grass county. He died June 4 in Spokane after living with a granddaughter in recent years.

The Big Timber Lions club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce plan a holiday calendar for 1950. A petition circulated among business houses asks for closing on July 3-4 Labor Day September 4 Armistice day November 11 Thanksgiving November 23 and Christmas December 25. Armistice day may be observed yearly per American Legion. merchants nearly all agreed. Service stations cafes and bars were not included.
