American Legion Post 19 Reports Active Year Highlights
Legion Post No. 19, led by Commander Jas Brannin, outlined a busy year at the district convention in Manhattan. The post conducted three military funerals, sponsored the Big Timber rodeo and dance bands, backed a motorcycle race meet, and organized sports including a Pee Wee baseball team and a Legion basketball team. Fundraising events supported the county hospital with a $1,000 pledge, plus donations to veterans aid, March of Dimes, DeMolays, Boys State, aged assistance, cancer drive, and Boy Scouts. Seven veterans secured jobs, three won compensation, and twelve received hospitalization assistance.

Surprise club led the program with piano solos by Martha Blackwell and accordion numbers by Mrs. Arnold Breck, plus a talk on interior decoration by Mrs. E. O. Death Car Driver Stornelli Given Reckless Driving Sentence
Samuel P. Stornelli of Kellogg Idaho was sentenced to 30 days in jail a $300 fine and one year license revocation for reckless driving in a crash that killed Marvin J. Moog of Lead South Dakota and Mullen Idaho. The collision occurred on highway 10 east of Big Timber. The Knudtsons of New London Wisconsin were injured and hospitalized. Stornelli was treated for minor injuries and James Moog Jr. collected his son’s body for burial in Page North Dakota.

Wedding in Big Timber Unites Evelyn Larson and Charles Willson
Miss Evelyn Larson daughter of Mr and Mrs Lewis Larson of Big Timber wed Charles F Willson son of Charles Willson Sr also of Big Timber in a Sunday ceremony at Evangelical United Brethren church. Rev F E Vines officiated with pink and white flowers decorating the altar. The bride wore a white satin gown with train and veil, carried red roses, and wore a pearl necklace from the groom. Bridesmaid Mrs Helen Schuite wore pastel blue satin, best man Lawrence Larson, ushers Joseph and Walter Wagner. Music by Mrs Mervin Sell and Cleo Sloan sang I Love You Truly and The Lord's Prayer. Sixty guests attended the reception in the church dining room. The couple will live on the Wade Nelson ranch after a two week West Coast trip.
