Rich New Yorker Sends Prize Cups for Fair Amateur Races

Charles H. Dugro, a wealthy New Yorker and son in law of prominent residents, plans to donate three engraved silver cups for amateur riders at the Sweet Grass county fair. He will arrive in Big Timber June 25 to discuss conditions, with events including a one half mile amateur race for any size horse, a pony race for 14.2 hands and under 16, and a breeders cup, all restricted to true amateurs.

Death of Fred Browning Lifelong town booster dies at 43

After months of suffering Fred Browning died at 10 o clock last night. He moved to the town in 1902, bought into Ross-Dier Co later Dier Browning Co, and was active in local affairs. He leaves a widow and five children George Ethel Fred Clarence and Allen. He was a member of Knights of Pythias Eagle lodges and Maccabees.

Native Beef Growers Unloading to Meet Western Competition

Sinclair Gillett Co of Chicago advises Native beef producers to unload now to avoid price pressure from western cattle. They report prices for native steers 1220 to 1300 lbs at 4.90 to 5.25, light natives at 4.45 to 4.75, cows 3.25 to 3.60, and bulls 3.40 to 3.85. Funeral services for local resident to be held Friday

The funeral will be held from the family residence at McLeod and 5th Ave at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with services at the Congregational church led by Rev. Joseph Pope. The cemetery rites will be conducted under the direction of the Knights of Pythias.
