Francis B. Sayre son in law of President Wilson arrived from the west Thursday morning and headed to Melville to join Paul L. Van Cleve Jr in ranch property. Hail Storm Wrecks Crops Across Sweet Grass and Park Counties
A fierce hail storm Friday afternoon battered Sweet Grass and Park counties ending with damaged crops especially alfalfa while wheat and other grains largely escaped. Reports from Otter Creek through Melville describe eight inch hail and dented autos, with one-inch and three-fourths hail noted. The Shields River valley suffered similar ferocity with ice three inches deep and 1.70 inches moisture in two and a half hours. Local residents recall the storm as the strongest in decades with widespread flooding and ruined pasture.

Verona May 28 dispatch reports Ferdinand Kiethley cousin of H T Kiethley to be honored with a bronze tablet in the Capitol at Washington. Kiethley a former Ozark boy and member of Company H Twenty eighth infantry died at Camp Marahui November 14 1908 after fighting Moros solo and killing 20 before he fell. Camp Kietchley in the Philippines was named for him.
