Mr. and Mrs. Martin Aker of Seattle paid a surprise visit to Gus Kirshner’s home Thursday on their way home. The Akers and Kirshners are long-time neighbors from Rapelje. Julia Morris, daughter of Clay Morris of Big Timber, married William Matthews of Laurel on Saturday May 22 at Laurel. Judge Chatman officiated. attendants were Elmer and Mrs. Dusterhoff. The couple will reside in Laurel where Matthews works for Rice Truck Lines.

At Leo Cremer ranch last Thursday ranchers agreed to fund a $23,034 power line to their properties, the cost per ranch unit the highest Montana Power has built. Participants include Ed Adams Sr. and Jr. C M Cremer Leo Cremer Sr. Leo Cremer Jr. George Crum Ted De Cock and Tom Hanson. Line runs from Chas Crum to Ted DeCock along the Sweet Grass to Medley. Former Big Timber Publisher Walter Aitken Dies at 78
Walter Aitken of Bozeman a 78 year old attorney and former Big Timber Express publisher died in Bozeman Monday. He led the Express from 1895 to 1899 with senator Leon Olmstead. He also published papers at Kalispell and Columbus, practiced law in Belgrade, served 20 years as Bozeman city attorney, and is survived by his widow a daughter and a son.

Mrs Car rie M Ammerman 74 a Livingston matron died at 11 00 Tuesday morning at the family home 107 South G after an extended illness She was born June 23 1874 near Farmington Minn and moved to Montana at age six She came to Livingston in 1923 from Sweet Grass county Surviving are two sons Earl C Ammerman and Harry Ammerman of Livingston and one brother J G Woods of Springdale.

Flash Flood Hits Yellowstone Region Causing Major Damage
Cloudburst floods north of Big Timber sent creeks over banks from Melville to Grey Cliff washing out bridges and culverts and isolating ranches. Mrs. Elsie Ryan 63 died from head and internal injuries after an auto wreck near Helena as Rev G C Beery 79 died from a skull fracture. The two others injured include Mrs Ethel Thurman 65 with bruises. Funeral for Mrs Ryan set for Friday at Evangelical United Brethren church.

Womans Club Holds Spring Meeting at Old Raintuck
The Big Timber Womans Club held its annual spring luncheon at Old Raintuck with 32 members and two guests. An informal meeting followed as Mrs. Frank Chase presided and committees were appointed, including Ways and Means, Membership, Library, and Publicity. Immunization Clinic Offers Third Toxoid Shots
The next clinic will be held Saturday June 26 with hours 10 to 12 and 2 to 4. Drs Baskett and Claiborn administered 89 smallpox shots 90 diphtheria boosters and 75 toxoid shots at the last session. The upcoming clinic will provide booster diphtheria smallpox and third toxoid doses.
