Three People Drawn Toward Shore After Cloudburst Flood

A striking incident near Melville saw Eline and Emil Adam and O. A. Maerchan escape a drowning after a cloudburst transformed dry Seven Mile creek into a torrent. The bridge failed mid crossing, horses and wagon stranding, but all aboard reached shore with only a scare and minor injuries.

St Olaf College Band to Perform in Auditorium Thursday

The St Olaf college concert band of Northfield Minnesota led by Prof F Melius Christiansen and assisted by Prof Oscar Gronseth will give a concert at the Auditorium on Thursday evening August 12. The band of forty five student musicians has a renowned Northwest reputation and a history of European tours and royal audiences. This year marks the sixth annual American concert tour following a 1906 Norway concert circuit.

Big Sheep Deal At Billings Shocks Livestock Market

Charles Stocker bought 11 000 yearlings and 2 year olds for his Big Timber ranch in a Billings sale, with 6000 yearlings at 5.28 dollars each. The price for 2 year olds was higher but undisclosed. The purchase reflects high sheep and wool prices and growing interest from new settlers in breeding ewes.

Grey Cliff aims to grow and attract railroads like Milwaukee or Northwestern. Keppler, Lay, Fleming and Rep attended Sells Floto shows in Billings. Rep formerly bandmaster for eight years. Anderson's Lithia Hot Springs Promises Scenic Health Retreat

Located twenty eight miles south of Big Timber at the mouth of East Boulder Canyon, Anderson's Lithia Hot Springs offers lithia and magnesia rich water, a five inch flow feeding a plunge pool, and rustic lodging with meals. Some More Prizes In Sight For Montana

The National Corn Exposition at Omaha Nebraska runs December 6 18 1909 with a 50000 prize list. Montana aims to win at least three of four new trophies for wheat oats barley and best ear of corn. Trophies include Kansas Colorado Wisconsin and National Corn with values from 900 to 2000. Prof Atkinson of Montana leads the effort.
