Crazy Mountain Goat Studies Progressing
The Crazy Mountain goat herd study in Montana is progressing under Robert Cooney of the Montana Fish and Game Department. Researchers observe the herd formed from goats released in 1941 and 1943 to learn migration, age, survival and transplant readiness. Traps are being set on Sweet Grass Creek and Elk Creek with tagging and marking for distant identification. Biologist Joe Gaab leads the work with help from Montana State College student Jack Lentfer.

Georgetown Lake fishing pickups draw large holiday crowd
Georgetown lake opened July 1 drawing more than 1,100 anglers. Walter M. Allen of the Montana Fish and Game Department reports excellent fishing with rainbow trout dominant among eastern brook and cutthroat trout, plus silver salmon and grayling. Lake stays open to November 16 with a 10 fish aggregate limit and no more than one fish per day.

Reed Point Boy Dies In Auto Mishap
Timothy Berry 21 months old was killed when a pickup backing from the home garage struck him. The driver was his father. Coroner Howard Cashmore said no inquest. Services set for 2 pm Thursday at Reed Point Evangelical United Brethren Church. Burial in Reed Point Cemetery.
