Secretary Clinton P. Anderson told House Public Lands Subcommittee Chair Barrett he approves four of six committee proposals on forest service grazing land procedures. He backs writing all commitments, allowing counsel at hearings and transcripts, pushing range improvements, and considering economics when reductions occur. New Grazing Fees Announced for 1948 in Big Timber

Melville Longhorns Edge Bozeman in Opening Hockey Clash

The Melville Longhorns defeated the Bozeman DeMolays 3 to 2 on Sunday at Melville. Victor Tronrud Jr and Leif Anderson scored for Melville, with Tronrud adding the winner in the third period. A return game is planned in two weeks at Bozeman if ice allows.

Funeral services held for Oliver Myers of Grey Cliff

Oliver Myers of Grey Cliff died early Monday. Services were held at Big Timber Lutheran church at 2 PM today. An obituary will appear next week. Queen candidate Tleana Hanson from Big Timber is nominated at Montana State College to reign as the college yearbook queen. MSC sent 25 coed photos to Tyrone Power who will select five for the honor.
