Freshman Home Economics students prepared a nutrition and foods buffet for their mothers in the department as part of semester exams. REA Lines Planned To Add 50 Miles In Montana
Materials are on hand to build 50 more miles of REA lines to Melville Springdale with a 31 mile G project in Springdale and 19 miles in Big Timber creek area. Contract set for February 15 with 90 days to completion. Melville residents await Montana Power survey before choosing REA or power company supply amid controversy over coverage and cost. Some ranchers fear limited hookups in outlying districts while others fret over delays and higher costs than original estimates.

Free Movie Show For Farmers In Big Timber
A free screening of The Land of Power Farming will be shown to farmers and ranchers in Big Timber on Saturday January 24 at 11 am at the State theater. St. Mark's Episcopal church held its annual parish meeting with 55 attendees at Dallman hall. Treasurer O A Sippel reported an increased 1948 budget, while Mrs. Earl Bouse and Mrs. Orvin Flare noted growth in the guild activities and church school enrollment. Rev. Bristol reported 23 services in Big Timber and 135 services in the Midland Empire field, with 262 calls there. Cold In Wisconsin and Birthday Party Highlights
George Eaton returned home from a two week visit with his parents in River Falls Wisconsin. It was extremely cold with temperatures dipping to below 53 degrees one night. Sharron Lamp celebrated a tenth birthday with a formal party at the Paul Lamp home. Fourteen attendees included Sharron's teacher Miss Alice Brekke. W G McLean Army motion picture engineer arrived in Big Timber for a weeks leave from Guam. He was the sole passenger on a big airliner from Guam to Hawaii after a typhoon disrupted transport. He hopes this is his final Pacific assignment and remarks Guamitis as too much rain and too little of most everything else.
