Mrs Valgamore Dies After Battle With Cancer
Mrs Valgamore, wife of Ceo Vadanapan gaa esget, died after a cancer illness. Funeral services were held at Esan zeheal United Brethren church with Rev. JD Lindley officiating. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery. She was born July 16, 1910, in Billings and lived in Big Timber most of life. Survived by husband, two sons Henry and Dale, a daughter Lois, siblings, five grandchildren, and numerous relatives.

Sheriff Attends Rescue Seminar in Great Falls
Sheriff Kenneth Thompson attended a search and rescue seminar organized by the Montana Aeronautics Commission in Great Falls from January 19 to 21. The gathering covered air search and rescue operations and coordination among state and federal agencies, including the Air Force and Fourth Air Force, based at Hamilton Field, California, which operates across the western states. Civil defense topics were also discussed.

South America Agricultural Tour Led by Local Residents
Three Sweet Grass county residents Mr and Mrs Paul L Van Cleve and Mrs Bertha Cremer join 17 area travelers on a three week sponsored agriculture tour to South America. They fly from Miami to Rio de Janeiro with stops in Uruguay Chile and Peru to visit stock ranches meat plants cattle and sheep events dairy farms and processing facilities. The trip ends back in Miami January 30.

Alvie McCaslin 47, former Grey Cliff rancher, died of cancer in Chillicothe Texas during Christmas visit. The Belfry residents previously ranched on the Utormhole ranch near Grey Dee. Funeral and burial were in Chillicothe. Survived by widow, son Neil of Miles City, and daughters Susan and Joan.

Fines List From Justice Court After Highway 10 Incident
Justice Court records show Josephine Faw fined 25 dollars for reckless driving after a Saturday morning crash on Highway 10 near Boulder Bridge. The car skidded on the bridge, ended in the stock underpass. no injuries to Faw or two passengers. car demolished. Additional fines include Beagle 10 for stop sign violation and 50 for beer possession. Hersman Renfield Eaton Martin Ashley and others fined for various violations including resident license fraud claims.

The Blood Program Expansion and Bloodmobile Visit
The Red Cross blood program grew from wartime origins to 54 regional centers with bloodmobiles. Last year it collected 2,367,500 pints, distributing all but 12 percent to hospitals. The program cost $12,700,000 for staff, supplies, and equipment. The bloodmobile will be at the Legion hall February 10 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Sheepherders Split Weekend With Belgrade Upset Forsyth
The Big Timber Sheepherders defeated Belgrade 83 to 77 in a nonconference game but lost a key matchup to Forsyth 58 to 7. McLauchlan was injured against Belgrade and sat out the Forsyth game. High scorers included Smart 29 and Anderson 19 for Big Timber, with Belgrade led by Moore 19. Forsyth visit followed.
