Wilsons Celebrate 60th Anniversary at Big Timber Home
Mr and Mrs W M Wilson mark six decades of marriage with a family dinner and visitors at their Big Timber home. The couple married in 1904 Jellico Tennessee and moved through Idaho and Montana before settling in Big Timber in 1961. They have one son Blaine and a daughter Mrs Clifford Buell plus 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Big Timber memories recall Calamity Jane visiting Gardiner on paydays, entertaining soldiers with frontier tales. She later wed a younger man for an eastern vaudeville tour, refused to tour, and juggled drinking and quarrels with a washer woman friend, Mrs. Dooly, ending visits to Big Timber after a bitter clash.

Services Held For Albert F. Boyd
Funeral services were held at Lowry Chapel for Albert F. Boyd who died Saturday at Community Hospital after a ten day stay. Rev. Grady Chaney officiated with Mrs. Haas singing and Mrs. Sell at the organ. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery. He was born October 22 1895 in Rapid City South Dakota and lived in Douglas Wyoming Columbus Big Timber and other towns. Survivors include three brothers William H Boyd Raymond Boyd and Arthur J Boyd sister Mrs Edna B Martin and many nieces and nephews.

Boosters Elect Officers At Legion Hall Meeting
A well attended meeting Friday evening at the Legion hall elected a slate of officers for the year. Tony Vander Voort was elected president with Arvid Larson as vice president and Mrs. Tope Strobel as secretary. Tom Findley became treasurer, Donald Moore maintenance man and assistant secretary, Grant Duncan, Harold Faw, Tope Strobel, Arvid Larson and Geo Lamach named directors. Funds were raised to pay for improved equipment and a new station.

Dr. Vernon Standish returned from a week in Denver attending a general practice review at the University of Colorado Medical Center. Dr. C Wesley Eisele led lectures on internal medicine pediatrics surgery body chemistry obstetrics gynecology and dermatology with 54 hours of instruction for Standish and 275 physicians attending the week. Standish noted progress in kidney and liver baboon transplants and observed the mixed outcome with one death in two weeks life expectancy. He flew in a snow storm on instruments and reached Big Timber within five hours after leaving Denver at 5 30.

The tiny meeting of Sweet Grass Community Hospital Inc will be held Monday at 8 PM in the courthouse court room. The special bond election allows the county to build a nursing home and this may be discussed. Adults may join for a lifetime $10 by appearing at the meeting or mailing the secretary. Two directors will be elected and the hospital’s operating results will be reported.
