VanderVoort Rites Held for Lambertus 94 in Montana
Funeral services for Lambertus VanderVoort 94 were held Saturday at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Rev. John Haligowski. He died Wednesday at Sweet Grass Community Hospital and was born November 5, 1876 in Holland. He married Adriana Antwerpen in 1901 and immigrated to the United States in 1910. Survivors include five sons two daughters 26 grandchildren 63 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Burial followed at St Josephs Cemetery Harlowton Montana.

The Sweet Grass County High School B team finished 1970-71 with a 14 4 record. They lost to Bozeman Rosary 60 62 in overtime but defeated Belgrade B 65 55 behind John Goosey 22 points and Clay ton Davis 17. Goosey added 18 and Davis 17 in a Saturday win over Belgrade. The C team fell in a separate note, while Heyn speakers were announced for events at the Free Church in downtown Big Timber.

Seventh and eighth graders from a rural school district rode to Helena to tour the Capitol and observe the House, Senate, and Supreme Court. Teachers and the superintendent accompanied them, with stops at Governor Forrest Anderson's office and the Charles Russell Museum. They returned by 7:30 p.m. and enjoyed the trip. Also reported is 14 year old Mark Hotchkiss hospitalized with a fractured right ankle after a horse accident on his family farm.

Smoke Cited As Accident Cause
A two car crash 3.1 miles west of Big Timber along the railroad right of way occurred about 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Five people were hospitalized with injuries from a smoke created by burning that obscured visibility. The collision involved A C Davis and wife of Livingston in a westbound car and Jim Smith Jr. of Livingston in the eastbound car. both cars were totaled. Passengers in the Smith vehicle included Don Luley, Mary Mack, and others. Luley had fractured ribs and Mrs Luley and Mack suffered injuries. Davis party also injured.
