The Big Timber Herders dropped a home game to the Manhattan Tigers 49 to 37 then defeated the Columbus Cougars 49 to 42 on Tuesday. Gunderson sparked the Columbus victory with a go ahead setup, McDonald added key baskets, and Big Timber held Columbus to 9 points in the third quarter. Lions, the local grade team, also lost to Manhattan and Columbus in preliminaries, hampered by short rosters.

Cars Demolished In Wreck Near Erik Hammersmark Ranch
Norman Marshall of Almira Virginia was seriously injured in a Wednesday morning collision on highway 10 seven miles west of Big Timber. John Larrabee of Livingston escaped with minor injuries after both cars were badly damaged. Sheriff investigators noted both vehicles struck on the right sides and suggested one driver may have crossed the hill or attempted to avoid the other. The road was clear of snow or ice at the scene.

Robert Johnson and William G Van Wyenck both of Anaconda were arrested on a complaint they stole a punchboard from Ruths case. Johnson admitted taking the board intending to return it after punching out winning numbers. Van Wyenck was released for lack of evidence. Johnson fined 2750 and 30 days in jail by Justice J D Holly on petty larceny.
