Christmas Party Held By Cubs
The Cub Scouts held their Christmas party and pack meeting at the Dugout with mothers as guests. Den by den, the tree was decorated and boys joined in carols. Awards were given to Gary Collenborne Jonathan VandaVeer Wayne Larson John Brekke and Jack Prather. Each Cub gave his mother a cutting board from Den meetings. Den mothers gifted Cubmaster Prather a Den and pencil set engraved with the Scout insignia. Ice cream and cookies were served.

Norwegian Visitor Stranded in Big Timber on Fellowship Trip

Bobby Olson 16 Dies in Billings Hospital
Bobby Olson 16 son of Roy and Mrs. Olson of Belmont died Tuesday in a Billings hospital from meningitis after illness since Saturday. He was a Lavina High School junior and Lavina- Rugate basketball player active in 4 H. Survivors include parents three brothers Danny David and Dick and sister Jeanie. Burial in Lavina Cemetery with Roberts Funeral Home Roundup in charge. Funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lavina Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. A M Egge. He was born July 9 1939 in Big Timber.

Mrs. Helen Louise Bickford 53 died Sunday after a long illness. She was born July 3, 1902 in Iron River Wisconsin and lived in Amery before moving to Big Timber in 1924. She married Chester A. Bickford in Livingston 1926 and later lived in Columbus and Shepherd. Survived by three sons Robert James Donald and six grandchildren, plus sister Olga Munson. The Big Timber postoffice set a record with 8570 outbound letters and cards last Monday. By Christmas they expect around 85 000 outgoing items. The office will close at noon on Saturday December 24 and reopen 9 to 10 a m Christmas morning for late parcel delivery, then close all day Monday December 26.
