Three Local Youths Injured In Accident Near Columbus

Three Big Timber youths were hospitalized after their car left Highway 10 west of Columbus and rolled 167 feet into a borrow pit. Driver David W. Refsland 19 sustained facial lacerations and a broken pelvic bone. Companion Robert Ettleman 21 had a fractured right arm and cuts. Albert Fallang 19 treated for scalp cuts. Gerald Cosgriff 18 escaped injury. Speed was about 70 mph and it bounded 60 feet in the air at one point.

McArthur Barrett Couple Wed at Fort Holabird Chapel

Navy Furlough Bring Home for Christmas Hitchhikers

David Herries and Navy buddy Ron Tobin arrived from San Diego on furlough. With $7, they hitchhiked home to Big Timber via Ashton Idaho Falls. After being helped by hospitable locals they shared two turkey dinners and received $20 to finish the trip. They plan to return to their base January 1.

Mrs. George Eaton Dies After Stroke at Grey Cliff

Mrs. George Eaton of Grey Cliff died in a Billings hospital after a stroke three days earlier. Born February 5, 1896 in River Falls Wisconsin, she married George Eaton in 1915. They moved to Montana in 1943 and built Eaton's Inn near Grey Cliff, operating it with their children. Funeral Wednesday at the Congregational church with Rev E Brentwood Barker officiating. Escape Serious Injuries In Mishap Near Billings

The George Lamach family escaped serious injury after a Christmas trip to Wichita ended in a Christmas Eve highway crash near Billings. The car skidded on slush, smashing both ends. Mrs Lamach suffered a fractured wrist and Daisy a facial cut while Corwin and Nealie Phillips were uninjured. They returned to Big Timber by bus that evening.

Heart Attack Fatal To Boulder Pioneer

William O. McKinsey, 68, longtime East Boulder resident, died at Fort Harrison Veterans Hospital after extended illness. A WWI veteran, he lived on the Piper ranch area since 1892, married Edna Kile in 1915, and leaves his wife, his mother, and five sisters. Services were at Lowry Funeral Home with military rites by the American Legion and burial at Mountain View.
