Elizabeth Michels Dies in Helena

Elizabeth C Michels 69 longtime Big Timber resident who moved to Helena in 1939 died at St John s hospital Helena after a 10 day stay. Requiem mass was at St Helena cathedral with rosary last night burial in Resurrection cemetery. She was born Aug 21 1881 Fond du Lac Wisconsin and came to Montana in 1889 with her parents. Survivors include son William Michels daughter Mary Michels two sisters Mrs T F Madden Mrs S J Everett and two brothers George and John Pauly plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Orchid Culture Becomes Mrs Rostad Diversion in Melville

Mrs Susanna Rostad widow of George Rostad, after raising eleven children, now tends orchids brought from Honduras by her son Ora. The collection includes a bull orchid and a yellow spotted variety hung in boxes, with two plants needing special care. Watering is done by soaking in a bathtub, blooms expected next year, and other plants include a hoya vine, geraniums, gloxima, and an angel’s trumpet grown from seed. A fig tree in the greenhouse bears small green fruit.

Community Hospital Guild Meeting Highlights Donations and Items

Mrs Leif Anderson chaired the December meeting in the library club room.
